Shakira is a Colombian singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, and philanthropist who emerged in the music scene of Colombia and Latin America in the early 1990s. Her birth name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll and she was born onFebruary 2, 1977.
She was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia. Shakira is a native Spanish speaker and also speaks fluent English and Portuguese as well as some Italian, French and Arabic.

Shakira has lately started the music video for “Loca”, the primary contribution from her forthcoming album “Sale El Sol” – in stores on October 19th – The clip was directed by Jaume de Laiguana and filmed in Barcelona. Jaume is no stranger to Shakira as he has filmed eight music videos for her as of now. The Colombian pop sensation revolutionized Barcelona last month when she was seen shooting her new “Loca” video, and she really went wild! From rollerskating through the promenade, making a very public dress change, riding a motorcycle without a helmet plus lastly dancing in Barcelona’s well-known Pla del Palau fountain.
